The gallery includes pictures from the conception of the New Children’s Hospital all the way to present day.
Topping out ceremony
The hospital’s topping out ceremony was held on 30 March 2017.
Art plays a central role in the New Children’s Hospital. The hospital’s art collection was made possible by the following foundations: Stiftelse Brita Maria Renlunds Minne, the Swedish Cultural Foundation in Finland and the Finnish Cultural Foundation, which donated a total of EUR 1.5 million. The curator of the foundations’ art donation project was Marjatta Levanto. In addition to this, the New Children’s Hospital received numerous valuable works of art as donations from Moomin Characters, Anu Pentik, Capman and a number of private individuals.
The foundation is the developer and property owner of the New Children’s Hospital. The foundation will continue to operate actively even after the completion of the building.
Without private funding, the building of the New Children’s Hospital would have been delayed far into the future – together we have built something truly valuable.
